The local context

Encouraging mental health awareness, sexual and reproductive health education, healthy eating habits and prevention of non-communicable disease risk factors for young people in communities across Madrid.

Our objectives

To empower young people with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed health decisions in order to live longer and healthier lives.

Our focus

To support young people in their awareness of reducing risk behaviours that can lead to non-communicable diseases later in life, such as tobacco use, harmful alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, unhealthy diet, and exposure to air pollution. We accomplish this by promoting health awareness that is based on the values of respect, equity, participation, collaboration, and sustainability.

Our programme

Consists of workshops on healthy lifestyle, based on the promotion of:

1. Healthy Mind (good mental health, emotional intelligence, and self-esteem).
2.  Prevention of unhealthy behaviours (tobacco smoking and harmful alcohol consumption).
3.  Sexual and reproductive health rights.
4.  Healthy lifestyles (healthy eating, regular exercise).

AstraZeneca Spain employees support the programme by volunteering in various workshops.

Our achievements

We have impacted over 1,500 young people each year since the beginning of this project, in addition to providing familial support.

Our Healthy Lifestyle Habits programme has provided emotional support as well as NCD awareness education to young people in Spain, assisting them in making healthier choices.
