Since its launch, Aiming for the Future Foundation has raised over 100,000 PLN which it has used to help individuals, organise national advocacy campaigns for personal assistance – even partnering with multinational companies such as Amazon and Roche. Its aim is to remove barriers to healthcare, education and public life, with a special focus on those with rare diseases.

The Agri-Food and One Health Safety Agency (AFS1HA) uses a science-based approach to strengthen food systems, promote consumer protection and ensure food integrity. This covers agri-food, food safety, nutrition, hygiene and health while also addressing animal welfare, plant health and environmental sustainability.

Founded by Dr Wilfred Abia, the 15 strong team conducts research, informs policy and builds public awareness on issues like food contamination and adulteration. Through promoting compliance and cross-sector partnerships, the agency’s work supports several UN Sustainable Development Goals by advancing food safety, sustainable practices and resilient food systems.

Improving a continent’s health for nearly 70 years, Amref Health Africa is the largest African-led health organisation. Youth in Action, its dynamic youth wing, encourages young people to take the lead in health advocacy and policy influence.

With significant experience in tobacco control projects in Africa, Youth in Action mobilises youth-led organisations and fosters partnerships to push for stronger tobacco control policies. Through strategic campaigns and initiatives, the platform ensures young voices are at the forefront of shaping policies that protect communities from the harms of tobacco.

Since 2016, BaNgaAfayo Initiative Uganda has brought real change to underserved communities. To date, its holistic programmes in education, economic development, and public health has impacted over 10,000 young people.

Initiatives include providing sexual and reproductive health advocacy to over 300 adolescent girls, offering nutrition support to more than 500 mothers and children, and teaching literacy and digital skills to 1,500 children. The inspirational Sport for Change programme has engaged over 1,000 young people, empowering more than 200 to overcome addiction through sports-based life skills and health education.

Cure VCP Disease is a central hub for patients, researchers, and clinicians, dedicated to finding a cure for diseases caused by the VCP gene, including muscle, bone and neurodegenerative diseases like ALS and Parkinson's.

To both drive and share research, it has a patient registry and biobank of over 120 participants from 10 countries, and hosts patient conferences and international scientific conferences.

To accelerate diagnosis and improve clinical care for patients, it funds a clinical study with a nationwide Children's Hospital, leads a global consortium of 50 clinicians establishing clinical care guidelines and provides peer-to-peer support and genetic counselling.

Founded in 2020, Doctors on Ground (DnG) is a Malaysian non-profit dedicated to bridging healthcare gaps across 11 states. It builds resilient systems of health and care in underserved communities, supporting over 6,000 families from B40, refugee, and other marginalised groups.

DnG’s approach goes beyond clinics and hospitals—bringing care directly into homes and communities. Through home-based outreach, mobile clinics, and health education, its 400+ volunteers strengthen care systems that are accessible, shared, and sustained. Its upcoming digital initiative, JagaJiran, will further empower volunteers to coordinate care and support within their own neighbourhoods.

Flagship programmes like the Resilient Community Initiative (RCI) and Women First enables communities to manage their own health with dignity, trust, and resilience.

At a time when one in three people are unable to consume enough nutritious food, the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) was established to transform food systems to deliver healthier diets for all people, especially the most vulnerable. GAIN develops and delivers solutions to combat malnutrition, working with governments, businesses and civil society.

Since 2002, GAIN has enabled 1.2 billion people—15% of the world’s population—to access fortified foods, helping to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. The organisation has also demonstrated thought leadership and influence with over 30,000 citations of its knowledge products in the field of nutrition and food systems.

JUMP18 is a non-governmental organisation in Aruba dedicated to the national prevention of childhood obesity. Its mission is to support children and their families in adopting healthier lifestyles through a holistic, four-pillar approach: education, physical activity, community-based interventions, and research.

Since its founding in 2021, JUMP18 has reached countless families across Aruba and built strong, strategic partnerships with schools, local organisations, and sponsors. The organisation plays a key role in shaping a healthier future for the next generation by integrating evidence-based strategies into its programmes and initiatives.

Their goal is to build a society with conscious ecological behavior, living in a safe and sustainable environment in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia. To achieve this, they collaborate with decision-makers in the environmental sector, relying on scientific data, research, analysis, and expertise.

Air quality in Kyrgyzstan is among the worst in the world. This motivated MoveGreen, back in 2011, to focus its efforts on combating air pollution in the region. Thanks to a specialised network of strategically placed air quality sensors across Kyrgyzstan, they collect reliable real-time data. This information is published on the MoveGreen website and mobile applications and is made available to activists, experts, and government bodies to support policymaking.

MoveGreen also prepare analytical materials and run awareness campaigns to increase public understanding of environmental issues and promote sustainable development and the use of renewable energy to combat climate change.

The first citizen conversation movement in Latin America, Mutante Foundations creates social conversations to bring critical issues into public discourse. Through journalistic and digital tools, subjects are discussed for four weeks via digital channels.

The foundation encourages citizens to talk about their experiences, understand social problems with input from various experts, and act to drive change. This process helps identify relevant issues, challenge misinformation, and produce qualified content that empowers citizens.

Winner of the King of Spain Award for Best Ibero-American Media, in one twelve-month period Mutante Foundations reached 19 million people and resulted in 75 social conversations.

Founded in 2002, Rare Diseases Croatia has 36 member associations and over 1,200 individual members.

Through a specialist Resource Centre and with the help of student volunteers, it provides essential support including psychological counselling, guidance on social rights and medical inquiries. As a member of EURORDIS, Rare Diseases Croatia also participates in research and education at national and international levels.

With funding from various sources including the City of Zagreb, national ministries and the EU, it is able to implement a wide range of projects dedicated to promoting humanity, social inclusion and improved treatment for those affected.

With a focus on young people from underserved backgrounds, the organisation’s work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals related to health, education, gender equality and reduced inequalities.

From delivering weekly basketball sessions to school children, to hosting one of Scotland's largest grassroots community events, and piloting aspirational visits to places like the University of Glasgow, Rising Stars has impacted over 2,000 young people. Part of the FIBA #Basketball4Good Movement and the IOC Young Leader Movement, Rising Stars is using basketball as a powerful tool to promote social equity.

The Santa Clara de Asís University (USCA) is a private educational institution in Caaguazú with a mission to instil humanistic ethics in its students, empowering them to contribute meaningfully to the sustainable development of Paraguay and the wider world.

USCA actively promotes regional development through its commitment to quality education, scientific research, and social service. It offers academic programmes with a particular emphasis on healthcare to meet the specific needs of the region. Building strategic partnerships with local and national institutions, USCA fosters collaborative research and promotes sustainable initiatives. Its vision is to be a regional leader, recognised for educational excellence, and nurturing innovative, entrepreneurial leaders who make a lasting impact on society.

Established in 2010 by bringing together cancer, diabetes and heart health organisations, the Uganda NCD Alliance (UNCDA) has a mission to create a society free of preventable non-communicable diseases (NCDs).

UNCDA has grown to over 14 district-level branches, partnering with 12 civil society organisations to improve access to NCD prevention and control services. As a result, nearly 50 rural health clinics for NCD screening, diagnosis, and education have been established. A key partner to the Ministry of Health, its advocacy has also led to the creation of a full NCD department, and a national physical activity programme launched by the President of Uganda.
