Using the Super Better method to discourage risky behaviours (Zambia)
Sansamwenje is a rural community, like many others in sub-Saharan Africa, with very limited educational and other opportunities. COVID-19 has left adolescents anxious, sad and frustrated about their future - with many starting to engage in high-risk behaviours.
We are using the principles of gaming, as outlined by SuperBetter creator Jane McGonigal, to create social and emotional activities that unlock the creativity and positivity of youth. This will improve the physical and mental wellbeing of the adolescents and their family members, friends and siblings.
