Supporting science-driven organisations
We partner with like-minded science-led organisations that share an unrelenting focus on scientific quality, smart risk-taking and good decision-making. At AstraZeneca, our people are our passion and their experience and innovation drive our company. That experience is an asset that can be shared with start-ups that are building their companies. The opportunity to connect AstraZeneca leaders and scientists with start-ups looking for mentoring is beneficial for both parties. Innovative start-ups benefit from the expertise of AstraZeneca while our scientists gain entrepreneurial thinking that they can bring back into the organisation.

We are looking to engage with innovative start-ups. We are seeking to support start-ups that have a specific need addressing in their development which can be helped by interactions with an AstraZeneca scientist. We are also looking to engage with start-ups who may have an innovative idea or solution for one of our key strategic priorities. Our current strategic priorities can be found here
Through this programme, start-ups can gain access to mentoring from an AstraZeneca scientist to address a specific need. Mentoring is available for companies where we can match an employee’s expertise to the expressed need. Mentoring arrangements vary depending on the circumstance and can range from single to multiple meetings over a period of time. Mentoring is provided on a non-confidential basis and specifics are agreed in advance.
This programme is for start-ups in the life science sector. Applicants are recommended to highlight specific mentoring requirements in their application. Given the resource needed to support these activities, not all requests for mentoring can be supported.
For interested parties, please apply using the ‘submit a proposal’ link. In the form, you will be asked about your specific needs and how you would like AstraZeneca to help. While applications are accepted any time, they are reviewed on a quarterly basis.
