CoSolve sustainability
Developing life-changing medicines in a way that is respectful of our planet
Our future depends on healthy people, a healthy society, and a healthy planet. At AstraZeneca, we’re using our knowledge of science and ability to innovate to help deliver sustainable healthcare. We are committed to promoting prevention, increasing access to life-changing treatments and strengthening global healthcare resilience and sustainability.
With Africa experiencing a rise in the prevalence of diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, cancer, and respiratory illnesses, we are announcing a grant scheme to fund research that will seed innovative research in partnership with AstraZeneca. Recognising the crucial role that African researchers play in advancing healthcare solutions for non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the African context, the scheme will fund Sub-Saharan African early career researchers based at local institutions.
The AstraZeneca Open Innovation Africa collaboration call for research proposals focussed on non-communicable diseases is now open. Funding for projects is available for up to $20,000. The aim is to support early career researchers based in Sub-Saharan Africa with in-kind contribution (of proprietary data, tools, technology or assets) and seed funding for innovative, collaborative projects with AstraZeneca.
AstraZeneca Open Innovation's collaboration call for African researchers working on non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) represents a remarkable opportunity to catalyse positive change and address one of the most pressing challenges facing Africa's healthcare landscape today. By supporting early career researchers from Africa, this call has the potential to unlock innovative ideas and exciting scientific research on NCDs. Through bilateral knowledge sharing, these collaborations have the potential to increase the impact of the research and interventions.
