CoSolve Sprints
Pioneering innovative solutions to real research challenges
Introducing CoSolve Sprints
Through CoSolve Sprint, as part of the global Open Innovation programme, we seek to engage in collaboration with researchers from academia, start-ups and early stage biotechs to crowdsource solutions for our R&D CoSolve Sprint challenges. Together, we aim to expand our problem-solving ecosystem and fortify the groundwork for the next wave of breakthroughs in drug discovery and development. With CoSolve Sprints, we are in search of developed ideas that can be transferred as solutions to address our scientific objectives.
The engagement with AstraZeneca through Open Innovation was a true partnership in the sense of sharing ideas and supporting one another to generate beneficial outcomes for both parties. Sharing our experience and resources led to achievements that would not otherwise have been possible, such as product design.

We are seeking innovative and transferable solutions, to address our R&D CoSolve Sprint challenges.
CoSolve Sprints are open all year around and span diverse therapy areas and scientific disciplines. In-line with mutually agreed milestones, we will provide input and support through the exchange of compounds, technology and/or multi-disciplinary expertise to augment the research. We are also keen to explore prospective longer-term partnerships that can accelerate medical science and breakthrough therapies for patients.
We are looking for researchers across academia and industry working at all stages of drug discovery – From early stage to clinical development. We are seeking the best partners to bring novel approaches, as an application or a technology, to transform the way we discover, develop and deliver new medicines. The challenges we post can represent nearly any aspect of drug discovery or development.
If you have an innovative solution, you can follow CoSolve Sprint to submit your proposal with non-confidential information by the specified deadline. The proposals will be reviewed by the AstraZeneca team, and selected proposals will be contacted directly to discuss collaboration opportunities.
